Kathryn Dunn

Kathryn Dunn

Kathryn Dunn is a lifelong Claremont resident. She attended Sumner, El Roble, and Claremont High School. Her two sons have collectively attended Sycamore, Oakmont, Mountain View, Vista, Condit, and Sumner Elementary Schools, with one child receiving services from the CUSD Special Education department. Both boys attended El Roble and graduated from Claremont High School. Her experience navigating both general and special education at CUSD provided a framework for advocacy, which led to her desire to serve on the school board.

Professionally, Kathryn specializes in communications and marketing through freelance projects and a contract with the Claremont Village Marketing Group. After 25 years of working in community journalism, Kathryn has a deep appreciation for maintaining robust community engagement and identifying effective legislative policies and administrative practices.

After studying journalism at Citrus College, where she served as editor of the student paper The Clarion, Kathryn transferred to the University of La Verne, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration.

Kathryn is the first representative to the board for CUSD’s Trustee Area 1. She lives in the Village area with her two sons.
